Educators in Fairfax County Public Schools created these curriculum matrices to help teachers align the ASOL to the commercial curriculum in their classrooms.  As we know in the last five to seven years, many research based curriculum products for teaching content to students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism have been released.  In Virginia our curriculum for these students who qualify has been the Aligned Standards of Learning.  It has been difficult for schools to determine which curricula to purchase and which would best meet the needs of the students and also meet the requirement  of the ASOL.  These curricula are available at all if not most of the T/TACs across  Virginia to borrow and explore for possible purchase.
